There is a small bug in the Outlook Profile Helper that only affects Windows 8 users with Outlook 2013. Here's the workaround AFTER you have run the Outlook Profile Helper, and Outlook still gives you an error after trying to open:
1. Open your Mail Control Panel applet.
a. Open Start
b. Type "Control Panel"
c. Click on Control Panel.
d. At the top-right corner of the control panel, type "Mail"
e. Click on Mail
2. Set the new Profile to be the Default
a. In the Mail Setup Applet, click Show Profiles
b. Under Always Use This Profile, choose Exchange
3. Click OK, and OK again to close the windows and save changes.
This should take care of the problem.
